FAQ# 1037: My scanner is not transmitting, it is just does several beeps after I scan something. How can I fix it?

Question

My scanner is not transmitting, it is just does several beeps after I scan something. How can I fix it?

Answer

When scanning barcodes, if the unit emits a series of beeps whenever a barcode is decoded, this usually indicates the scanner is not paired with its base. Scan the barcode set connection on the bottom of the scanner, then scan the serial number barcode next to it. This should pair the scanner with the base and should allow the scanner to communicate with the computer. If this doesn't resolve it, try resetting the factory defaults by scanning the "reset factory defaults" barcode from the scanner's User Guide.
