What do I do, if Store Manager gets a ‘Microsoft Jet’ error, and won’t load the database?

Answer

If you get the following error when trying to access the P1 folder of Store Manager Office: “The Microsoft Jet database engine cannot open the file '\Register1\posdata\products.mdb'. It is already opened exclusively by another user, or you need permission to view its data.”

You may be getting this error due to a permissions issue trying to access the folder where the database is located. Try disabling the Windows Firewall on the computer or any anti-virus software first. Also, if you are also running multiple computers in your location, power off or restart the workstations in order to release any hold on the database files, and try again.
