How do you disable the option to take Debit or Check payments within Cash Register Express?
Answer
In order to disable the option within the payment screen for Debit and Check transactions, a blank text file needs to be created, and saved within the CRE.net folder. To create the blank text file, right click on the desktop of the computer (or in the CRE.net folder), select the NEW option, and click on Text Document. Once the document shows on the desktop or folder, it will allow you to rename the file. Create one called nodebit.txt for no Debit transactions and/or nocheck.txt for no Check transactions. Copy the file(s) into the CRE.net folder in the C drive, under Program Files.
Once this has been done, open Cash Register Express, and the options to take Debit or Check transactions should be disabled.
