FAQ# 2304: Can the DS2278 save scanned barcodes when out of range of the cradle?

Yes it can! The DS2278, along with many other cordless Zebra scanners, is capable of operating in "Batch Mode". There is a scanning mode that will save scanned barcodes in the internal memory of the scanner to be uploaded to your device later when within range of the communications cradle again. This can be done by scanning the "Out of Range Batch Mode" configuration code in the DS2278 manual. You can also enable "Batch Only" mode which will disable communication with the cradle until the scanner is inserted into the cradle.
