My square stand isn't finding the devices plugged into it.

Answer

If your Square stand isn't finding the USB printer attached to it, or your USB scanner isn't receiving power; you will want to fully power off the iPad and then turn it back on. This is a known issue that sometimes occurs if the stand is plugged in when the iPad is already on with Square open.
