My Windows 10 system updated (May 2019, Cumulative Update), and now Cash Register Express is asking me to re-register. How do I fix this?

Answer

Windows 10 updates may have reset folder permissions, and in order to correct this, you will need to proceed through the following:

Open My ComputerC DriveProgram Files or Program Files x86 → Right click CRE.net FolderPropertiesSecurity tabEdit → Select each account, and click allowApply.

You should now be able to re-open Cash Register Express, without getting a registration prompt. If you are still having issues, you will need to contact our support team for further assistance on what the next steps are.
