Why does my Custom America Thermal Printer not open the cash drawer from Cash Register Express?
Answer
In order for Custom America printers to work with Cash Register Express, an OPOS driver must be installed for the receipt printer to functional correctly within Cash Register Express, specifically in regards to opening a cash drawer electronically.
In the OPOS Settings, in the lower right of the Configurator, there is an arrow for Advanced Settings. Within here, select the option for Open Cash Drawer with PrintNormal sequence.
In the settings of Cash Register Express, the Cash Drawer type needs to be set to USB Receipt Printer, else, the drawer will not open properly.
