Question
How do I set up my receipt printer and cash drawer in Amigo Point of Sale?
Answer
First, ensure your printer is installed in Windows and can print a windows test page.
In the Amigo Back Office, select the Configuration tab, then click the Peripherals drop-down menu. Select Receipt Printer. In this menu, you will need to select the correct Printer Name from the generated list, set the Printer Type (most receipt printers, e.g. Epson, POS-X, Citizen, etc. will require Epson for Printer Type; Star will require Star Line Mode), and possibly configure Custom Text to include your restaurant information.
Click the Peripherals drop-down menu again, and select Cash Drawers. Set the correct number of cash drawers. If your cash drawer is connected to your receipt printer, Drawer Interface should be set to Printer Driven. If your drawer is made by APG and is connected to your computer via USB, Drawer Interface should be set to USB HID (APG), and the APG USB driver should be installed. If your drawer is made by another cash drawer company, and is connected to your computer via serial or USB connection, you will likely need Drawer Interface set to Serial, and will also need to configure a drawer trigger (the drawer manufacturer should be able to provide this information); you will also need to configure the serial port settings.
