RFD90 / RFD9030 RFID Solutions
RFD90 Ultra-Rugged UHF RFID sleds — relentless. versatile. future-proof.
Today’s manufacturing, transportation and logistics operations demand fast, accurate RFID in harsh conditions. RFD90 Ultra-Rugged UHF RFID Sleds are built for those environments, with industrial-grade dual IP65/IP67 sealing and 6-foot (1.8-meter) drops to concrete.
Across the family, you get industry-leading read rates, an ultra-accurate item-finder mode, a tri-function programmable trigger and a high-capacity 7,000 mAh battery. Built-in Wi-Fi 6 enables over-the-air device management, while Bluetooth® 5.3 makes it easy to connect to mobile computers and supported smartphones.
Models in this Series.
- RFD9030 Standard-Range — standard read range of ~22 ft (~6.7 m) with ultra-rugged construction for demanding workflows.
- RFD9090 Long-Range — extended read range of ~75 ft (~22.9 m) for larger work areas and long-range item locating.
Ultra-rugged design for harsh environments
Dust-proof, spray-proof and water-proof construction, dual IP65/IP67 sealing, multiple 6-foot (1.8-meter) drops to concrete and a wide operating temperature range help keep the RFD90 family in service in demanding manufacturing and logistics settings.
Industry-leading RFID performance
Fast reads and ultra-accurate item finding
RFD90 sleds deliver 1,300+ tags per second with an ultra-accurate item-finder mode to locate critical items quickly. A tri-function user-programmable trigger provides fast access to RFID reading, barcode scanning and other workflow functions.
All-shift power
A 7,000 mAh PowerPrecision+ battery keeps devices running hour after hour.
Flexible connectivity for today and tomorrow
eConnex™ and smartphone support
Zebra eConnex™ adaptors attach a broad selection of rugged Zebra mobile computers, while the OtterBox uniVERSE adaptor supports many third-party smartphones for flexible deployments.
Wireless pairing when you need it
Integrated Bluetooth® 5.3 connects to Android™, iOS and Windows devices, with NFC tap-to-pair, Scan-To-Connect and pair-by-camera options for fast setup.
Remote management built in
Built-in Wi-Fi 6 enables over-the-air (OTA) device management — even when a mobile computer or smartphone is not attached.
Adaptable solutions that scale with your devices
Easy-to-change, tool-free adaptors help associates swap configurations quickly while maintaining compatibility as new devices are introduced.
Flexible charging and tethered operation
Charge the sled, the mobile computer — or both together
Charging cradles with two sets of pins can power the RFD90 sled, the mobile computer or both when attached. A universal cradle cup provides charging for the sled and includes a USB-A port for third-party devices.
Tethered use when needed
A cable cup enables the RFD90 sled to connect to a Windows-based PC or other host for tethered RFID workflows.
Cradles that simplify device management
One-slot and multi-slot cradles are available in charge-only and communication variants. Communication cradles add USB or Ethernet connectivity so you can set configurations, push firmware updates and monitor device health while devices are in the cradle.
World-class development and enablement tools
Move to the latest generation without a major rewrite
RFD90 SDKs are based on current Zebra RFID handheld SDKs, so only a recompile of existing applications is required to get up and running.
123RFID configuration and upgrades
Configure RFD90 sleds live or offline using 123RFID Mobile and 123RFID Desktop via cable cup or Bluetooth. Use 123RFID Desktop for proofs-of-concept, demos and firmware upgrades.
