POS-X EVO 2D Barcode Scanner Review

I tested the POS-X EVO 2D, and it is an excellent retail barcode scanner. It fits comfortably in your hand, and is easy to use, with the trigger in a good position. The EVO 2D uses a field of light with a red beam in the middle for scanning, which illuminates the barcodes you’re scanning.
 
The EVO 2D has a strong scan engine. I tested the scan range, and it is able to scan from 3 inches to at least 2 feet (for 100% Code 128 barcodes). It was able to read barcodes in direct bright light, and off of screens, so it can be used for mobile couponing, digital memberships, or other digital barcodes. As a 2D scanner, it can read 2D barcodes such as QR codes. It also easily scanned damaged, poorly printed, and faded barcodes. We tested it on a variety of damaged and faded barcodes, and it handled all barcodes that we tried.

It features a 3 foot drop spec with a rubberized hood, and comes standard with a 5 year warranty with 2 day advanced replacement.
