Potential Defect with ZD4/ZD6 Desktop Printers

Situation
- A manufacturing defect was detected in late Aug’24 which may cause the printer to have a False Print Head Over Temp reading and cause the printer to shut down.
- There is no safety concern with the printer.
- Only a small subset of printers produced in Q2’24 to Q3’24 were affected with this defect.
- Printer models: ZD411D&T, ZD421D&T, ZD611D&T, ZD621D&T, ZP620 and ZP506 (not all units are affected, only a small subset).
- Potential affected ZD printers have serial numbers with the 3rd letter being J, the next two numbers being 24, and then the following digits being between 10-30. EX: XXJ2411XXXXXX
- Anything shipped after Sept. 23rd from Zebra will not experience this issue.
Mitigation
- If a customer experiences the errors mentioned above, please submit an RMA request. There will be no cost to customers; repair work and shipping to/from Zebra will be covered. A pre-paid shipping label will be sent to the email/information entered on the RMA portal.
