The Xi3000 scanner is adding an extra zero at the beginning of every scan. How can I stop this?

Answer

This is likely due to a setting within the scanner converting the scans to European format. To remove the zero, you will need to scan some configuration barcodes.

In the Configuration Manual go to the UPCA configuration section and scan the following barcodes:

  1. Enter Setup
  2. Disable (under the Convert to EAN13 section)
  3. Update
This will remove the extra zero added from the conversion to the European standard EAN13.
