My scale beeps and zeros out when no one is even touching it.
Answer
On some 6700 series scales, there is something called and optical sensor that is used to Tare the weight on the scale without actually having to touch it. The sensor has a sensitivity ranging from 0-8 and usually comes set to the default of 0, which turns off the sensor. If a unit does come with the sensor enabled, it can be disabled by performing the following steps:
- Press and hold the On/Off AND HOLD keys for 3 seconds ("CONFIG")
- Press the UNIT button 1 time ("USER")
- Press the TARE button 1 time ("RESET")
- Press the UNIT button 7 times ("OTHER")
- Press the TARE button 1 time ("NLDRG")
- Press the UNIT button 6 times ("PHDRG")
- Press the TARE button 1 time (Numeric Value (0 - 8))
- The number displayed should be the current sensitivity. Press the unit button until you reach the desired setting (0 being off)
- Press the TARE button to accept the setting. ("PHDRG")
- Press On/Off 3 times and it should show a prompt with an Enter ?.
- Press the TARE button and the scale with reset with the new settings.
