Generally speaking you want to look at under the scanner head for a manufacturer's sticker. The font usually will be really small. This will have a model number and a serial. The serial number is used by the manufacturer only and is not the same as the model number, only the manufacturer can translate the serial number. It will start as "SN:, SN, S/N, or Serial" The model number may start as "Model#, Model:, No., etc" . Sometimes it does not start with "model", and will say "LS2208; 1450G-2USB" or similar. The model number is NOT the serial number.
