How do I install my PS/2 (keyboard wedge) barcode scanner?

Answer

To connect your PS/2 barcode scanner, please do the following:

1. Shut down your computer.
2. Unplug your PS/2 keyboard if it exists.
3. Plug your PS/2 barcode scanner into the PS/2 keyboard port (the purple PS/2 port) on your computer.
4. Plug your PS/2 keyboard into the input receptacle on the barcode scanner's PS/2 wedge cable. If you do not have a PS/2 keyboard (or PS/2 terminator) attached to the wedge cable, the scanner may fail to function.
5. Turn on your computer. Your barcode scanner should now be functional.

Be aware that you will typically be required to plug a PS/2 device into the PS/2 port on your wedge cable, or the scanner will not function.
