The tablet provides USB-C with USB-PD and DisplayPort, two USB 3.2 Gen2 Type-A ports and expansion for Gigabit Ethernet or DB9 serial. DisplayPort 1.2 supports 4096 x 2160 at 60 Hz; the dock can drive two 1080p HDMI displays.

Wi-Fi 6E with 2x2 MIMO and Bluetooth 5.1 with Audio LE connect the ET80 and ET85 to modern networks and peripherals. Wi-Fi 6E's 6 GHz band requires Windows 11 Pro; Windows 10 configurations use Wi-Fi 6.

ET85 configurations add data-only 5G or global LTE, plus Nano SIM and eSIM slots. In the United States, CBRS can support private LTE networks when the tablet has a 4G or 5G radio, and public-safety network certification supports first-responder deployments.

ET85 configurations can add dual-band GPS with GPS, GLONASS, BeiDou and Galileo support; carrier availability varies. Wi-Fi, cellular and GNSS antenna pass-throughs help maintain wireless service when the tablet is docked in a vehicle.

NFC supports peer-to-peer, card reader/writer and card-emulation modes for compatible ISO, MIFARE and FeliCa workflows. These options cover identity, smart-card and proximity interactions without requiring the barcode scanner.

Approved Cleaning and Disinfecting Agents

Approved agents include mild dish soap, 70% isopropyl alcohol, 0.5% to 3% hydrogen peroxide and specified diluted bleach; consult the user guide. The tablet is also tested for fluid contamination and electrostatic discharge.

Vehicle Certifications

For European 12 V vehicles, the tablet-and-keyboard dock is E-Mark certified and needs no external DC-to-DC converter. Match certification to the deployment region.

The 5,180 mAh, 39.8 Wh standard battery is user replaceable and reaches a full charge in about 2.5 hours. The 45 W USB-PD Type-C AC adapter is sold separately.

An expansion back can add a hot-swappable 3,400 mAh, 25.8 Wh secondary battery for longer shifts. PowerPrecision+ exposes battery-health metrics so administrators can identify batteries that may not provide dependable shift power.

Zebra 123Scan automatically detects and configures the optional scanner, allowing first-time users to bring scanning online quickly. It can also format barcode data for an application, reducing integration effort and manual-entry errors.
