MMF Cash Drawer Replacement Guide

Cash drawer manufacturer MMF, an industry-leader for over 40 years, is ceasing operations and is no longer producing units. With that, we’ve had a number of customers calling in asking what they can use instead. Thankfully, MMF drawers can be swapped out with another brand of drawer easily.

Generally, any printer-driven cash drawer can be swapped out with any other printer-driven drawer so long as you get the correct printer cable. Please keep in mind that each brand of drawer has their own cables that connect to each brand of printer. Furthermore, there are different classes of drawers that determine their durability and build quality. **MMF Val-U Line**
The [Star Micronic’s CD3 cash drawer][2] is a solid replacement to the Val-U line, featuring an almost identical appearance and build quality. Included in the Val-U line of products is a compact version of the drawer. While there is no other drawer that can match the size of that drawer, the CD3 does offer a [13x13 drawer][3] option that comes close.

**MMF Advantage**
The MMF Advantage was MMF’s top-of-the-line drawer. Thankfully, the [APG Series 4000][5] drawer can match both the build quality and size selection of the Advantage. Both drawers feature a rugged steel outer-shell and roller system allowing them to withstand over 4 million open and close cycles before failure.

**MMF Payvue**
The Payvue’s internal till light was a unique feature that has not been replicated by any other drawer. Despite the lack of a light, the [Star Micronic’s CD3 cash drawer][7] is your best bet for a replacement as the drawer build is similar.
