Star Micronics to Epson - Emulation Setup

<u><b>How do I put my Star Micronics TSP100 into ESC/POS (Epson Emulation) mode? </b></u> <br> Some specific softwares require that the printer communicates in ESC/POS mode, which is an Epson printer language that enhances and streamlines printing. However, that does not necessarily mean that an Epson printer will be needed. This is where Epson emulation comes into play. </br> <b>1)</b> Install the <i><b>futurePRNT Configuration Utility</i></b> (usually installed when the device driver is installed). Once installed, open the configuration utility, located in All Programs under the Start Menu. <br><img src="https://posguys.blob.core.windows.net/content/images/blog/72023/Capture1.PNG"> <br><b>2)</b> As soon as the Configuration Utility opens, <i><b>select ESC/POS Mode</i></b>, and click OK. <br><img src="https://posguys.blob.core.windows.net/content/images/blog/72023/Capture2.PNG"> <br><b>3)</b> In the Configuration Menu, <i><b>select General Settings</i></b>. <br><img src="https://posguys.blob.core.windows.net/content/images/blog/72023/Capture3.PNG"> <br><b>4)</b> Under <i><b>General Settings</i></b>, adjust the following settings as shown in the indicated red outlined screen-caps. <br><img src="https://posguys.blob.core.windows.net/content/images/blog/72023/Capture5.PNG"> <br><img src="https://posguys.blob.core.windows.net/content/images/blog/72023/Capture6.PNG"> <br><img src="https://posguys.blob.core.windows.net/content/images/blog/72023/Capture7.PNG"> <br><img src="https://posguys.blob.core.windows.net/content/images/blog/72023/Capture8.PNG"> <br><img src="https://posguys.blob.core.windows.net/content/images/blog/72023/Capture9.PNG"> <br><b>5)</b> <i><b>Apply</i></b> the changes. <br><img src="https://posguys.blob.core.windows.net/content/images/blog/72023/Capture10.PNG"> <br><b>6)</b> In the left side panel, <i><b>select Print Job Routing</i></b>, and check the box that says <i><b>Enable ESC/POS Routing</i></b>, and apply the changes. <br><img src="https://posguys.blob.core.windows.net/content/images/blog/72023/Capture11.PNG"> <br>Your <i>Star Micronics TSP100</i> printer should now be setup in <i><u>ESC/POS (Epson Emulation) mode</i></u>.
