How to I switch my Thermal Transfer Zebra Printer to Direct Thermal with the Driver?
Answer
- Make sure the Windows Print Queue is clear.
- Navigate to Devices and Printers in Windows
- Right click on the ZD420 and choose ‘See Whats printing’
- If there is anything listed there, cancel it
- Turn off the Zebra ZD420
- Press and hold the power button on the printer until it turns off
- Go through the Driver settings and confirm the printer is set to direct thermal on Printer Preferences and Default Printer Settings.
- In the Devices and Printers window, right click the ZD420 and choose Printer Properties
- In Printer Properties, click the Properties button
- Check the settings to make sure the size and print method are correct for Direct Thermal
- Click Apply and Ok
- Back on the Printer Properties screen, Click the Advanced tab
- Click the Printing Defaults button
- Confirm the settings are set to the same as the Properties
- Click Apply and Ok
- Send a Print test page from the driver in the Printer Properties window
- Power the printer back on
