Question
Star Printers and the Wireless LAN Unit - How to Power
Answer
Star designed the Wireless LAN Unit to be powered from a USB-A cable that is included in the packaging. The sole purpose of this cable is to power the device.
- Direct Connection: If your Star Printer has an available USB-A port, you can directly plug the Wireless LAN Unit into this port for power. This straightforward connection simplifies setup and minimizes additional cables.
- Alternate Power Source: If your Star Printer does not have a spare USB-A port, don't worry. You can connect the Wireless LAN Unit to any other generic powered USB-A port. Here are a few suggestions:
- 1. Your Computer: A free USB-A port on your computer can be used to power the Wireless LAN Unit. This is a common and convenient solution.
- 2. USB-A Charger: You can use a standard USB-A charger similar to those used with smartphones. Make sure the charger is plugged into a secure and reliable power source.
