Excellent 1D scanning performance

The linear imager operates at 547 scans per second and tolerates barcode motion up to 25 inches per second. The combination of mobile-screen reading, high-density resolution, and extended reach supports retail POS, warehouse and inventory tasks, light-industrial production lines, event registration, and hotel check-in.

Captures virtually all 1D bar codes on any surface — including mobile phone displays

The LI2208 captures common 1D retail and inventory symbols on paper labels as well as coupons, loyalty cards, and other barcodes displayed on mobile devices. With resolution down to 3 mil, it can also read the small, dense 1D codes used on compact components in specialty retail and light manufacturing.

Industry-leading working range

A 13 mil UPC-A code can be captured from about 1 to 31 inches, while a larger 26 mil code can be read from roughly 3 to 55 inches under typical conditions. For specialized long-range work, a 100 mil reflective symbol can be read from more than 20 feet away, subject to print quality, contrast, and ambient light.

Patented single circuit board construction

A patented single circuit board removes the connectors and ribbon cables that can become common failure points.

Compatible with 123Scan2 and Scanner Management Service (SMS)

Zebra 123Scan can program parameters, upgrade firmware, display decoded data, and print configuration reports. Scanner Management Service can remotely manage supported LI2208 units and query their asset information, while Zebra's Scanner SDK supplies drivers, documentation, test utilities, sample source code, and application controls for supported hosts.

Superior motion and angular tolerance

Wide skew, pitch, and tilt tolerances let workers scan at less exact angles, improving speed at checkout, receiving, event registration, and production stations. It remains a 1D-only scanner, making it best for operations that do not need QR, DataMatrix, PDF417, or other 2D symbols.

International keyboard support

USB, RS232, Keyboard Wedge, and IBM RS485 support cover common retail and business systems, while more than 90 international keyboard layouts help global deployments.

Withstands 100+ consecutive drops to concrete and 1,000 consecutive 1.64 ft./0.5 m tumbles

The LI2208 is designed to survive more than 100 consecutive 5-foot drops, drops from 6 feet to concrete, and 1,000 tumble cycles representing 2,000 impacts.

Flexible modes — handheld and presentation

Use the lightweight LI2208 in hand for deliberate aiming, or place it in the optional gooseneck Intellistand for presentation scanning. The scanner senses when it is inserted or removed and changes modes automatically, so users can switch workflows without scanning a configuration barcode.

Built for all day everyday use

At 4.95 ounces, the LI2208 is sized for repeated all-day use and retains the well-known handling of the LS2208. IP42 sealing helps keep out objects larger than 1 mm and protects against dripping water when the scanner is tilted within its rated conditions, supporting everyday retail, hospitality, warehouse, and light-industrial use rather than outdoor or wash-down environments.

Superior out-of-box experience

Smart auto-host detect cables identify the attached interface and choose the correct settings, reducing setup steps and the risk of configuration errors. Administrators can package multiple settings into one programming barcode, making repeat deployment across many lanes or workstations faster and more consistent.
