TSP700II Label Printing Calibration & Feed Issues

If you're using the TSP700II as a label printer and experiencing calibration or feed issues, adjusting the sensor sensitivity is one potential step to try.
This process includes adjusting the physical DIP switches, which control various sensor settings. The printer has multiple sensors, and below, we explain how to adjust both the 'Paper End and Black Mark Sensor' and the 'Near End Sensor.'
<h3 dir="ltr">You Will Need:</h3>
<ul>

Philips head screwdriver
</li>
<li dir="ltr" aria-level="1">
Small slot screwdriver
</li>
<li dir="ltr" aria-level="1">
Pen, paperclip, or similar pointed tool to adjust the DIP switches
</li>

<h3 dir="ltr">Paper End and Black Mark Sensor Adjustment:</h3>

Remove the DIP switch cover by unscrewing the screw.

Adjust the DIP switches as follows:

DIP SW1-5: ON

Load your media and close the printer lid.
</li>
<li dir="ltr" aria-level="1">
Turn the printer ON.
</li>

NOTE: The POWER and ERROR LED lights will flash, indicating the printer has entered Sensor Adjustment Mode.

Adjust VR3 using your small slot screwdriver until both the POWER and ERROR LEDs light up.
</li>

<h3 dir="ltr">Restoring the DIP Switches:</h3>
Once the adjustment is complete:

Turn the printer OFF and restore the DIP switches to their original settings:

</li>
<li dir="ltr" aria-level="2">
DIP SW1-5: ON

<li dir="ltr" aria-level="2">
DIP SW1-6: ON
</li>
<li dir="ltr" aria-level="2">
DIP SW1-7: ON
</li>
</ul>
<li dir="ltr" aria-level="1">
Check the operation. If the black mark is still not detected correctly, follow these steps to adjust the black mark sensor:

Ensure the printer is turned OFF.
</li>
<li dir="ltr" aria-level="2">
Remove the screw from the DIP switch cover on the bottom of the printer.
</li>
<li dir="ltr" aria-level="2">
Load the paper roll and set the printer to the "paper present" state.
</li>
<li dir="ltr" aria-level="2">
Turn the printer ON. The control panel lamps will flash, and the printer will enter sensor adjustment mode.
</li>
<li dir="ltr" aria-level="2">
Using a small slot screwdriver, turn VR3 counterclockwise as far as it will go. The POWER and ERROR LEDs will remain off.
</li>
<li dir="ltr" aria-level="2">

Turn the printer OFF, and restore the DIP switches back to their original settings:

DIP SW1-6: ON

Check the operation to ensure the black mark is detected correctly.
</li>
</ol>

<h3 dir="ltr">Near End Sensor Adjustment</h3>
Note: If the printer is wall-mounted (used in a vertical position), the near end sensor must be set separately using StarPRNT Intelligence.
If you're using the TSP700II in a vertical position (wall-mounted), follow the steps under Vertical Layout. For other setups, follow Standard.

Ensure the printer is turned OFF.

Using a ballpoint pen or similar tool, set the DIP switches as follows:

DIP SW1-5: ON

<li dir="ltr" aria-level="2">
DIP SW1-6: ON
</li>

DIP SW1-7: ON
</li>
</ul>
<li dir="ltr" aria-level="1">
Remove the paper roll, ensuring the printer is in the &ldquo;paper absent&rdquo; state.
</li>
</ol>

Turn the printer ON. The lamps on the control panel will flash, indicating sensor adjustment mode.
