In this ultimate Epson TM-C3500 printing quality test we performed five tests; control, submerged, splashed, frozen, and outdoors. Our first scan of the labels was at 1 hour, the second at one week, the third at 1 year.
Epson TM-C3500 Video Review
Before showing the images of our results here is a quick summary. When labels are printed on media designed specifically for the Epson TM-C3500 the ink does not bleed or smudge. UV light exposure after 1 year causes some light fading. The label that maintained its original quality the best after one year's time was the label in the f...
How do you do attendance tracking with Excel?
Ideally when you're tracking attendance you are using an attendance tracking program or at least a database where you have user information in one table and scans in another, you can then cross like the tables together to validate and verify who it is that is coming in.
However if all you would like to do is get the information on whomever is coming in and not necessarily validate them, then you can use 2D barcodes which hold much more information than a regular 1D barcode which holds a simple string about 10 characters max.

Do Any scanners work with specific POS? We use shopkeep and are looking for a more affordable option than the one they offer
Read our answer below. First posted in comment form here.
We did some research and testing for you. You can but Shopkeep says that you can't. What does that mean? It could mean that Shopkeep will refuse to help you with techsupport if they find out you are using “unapproved” hardware. Through our testing we discovered other scanners do in fact work.
Specifically we tested the CS3070 which is a more affordable 1D ...
Certain laser barcode scanners from Symbol / Zebra, formerly branded Motorola Barcode Scanners, are capable of having the width of their laser beam shortened or widened to make scanning small or clustered barcodes much easier.
In order to change your beam width you must be using a laser barcode scanner from Symbol/Zebra/Motorola, like the LS2208 Retail Scanner, LS4208 Rasterizing Retail Scanner, or LS3008 Light Industrial Scanner.
Simply scan the barcode for the beam width that you wish to use. By default, the scanner uses full width.
You can also find these barcodes in the manual that ...
If you have a credit or debit card, hopefully you have received a new one by now containing an EMV chip (that’s the little square box on the front of the card with lines running through it).
So what is EMV? Here it is in simple terms:
“EMV® is a global standard for credit and debit payment cards based on chip card technology". It’s name comes from the original companies to put it into place - Europay, MasterCard, and Visa. This newer technology is a way to lower credit card fraud by putting a super small computer chip in the card. The chip offers better data security by exchanging a lot m...
We are often asked the question, "What is the difference between the TM-T88V and the TM-T20II printer?" The most obvious answer is the speed but there are some other technical differences as well. Thanks to a YouTube question by Genius Uploader we compiled a chart to show only the differences.
is there any software difference between these two, or any thing the TM-88V can do that T20 cant? or is it only the speed print difference
~ Genius Uploader
We preface this post by stating that the Epson TM-T20II is a great value printer but the TM-T88V is better performing. Consider h...
What is EMV?
EMV is a new US credit card payment standard meant to make credit transactions more secure. It is not a law, it is a shift in the policies of popular credit card companies Europay, Mastercard and Visa.
Why do I need to switch to EMV?
If you accept credit and debit cards as payment then you should switch because if your customers use a chip enabled card and you do not process the sale with an EMV chip card reader then you may be liable for counterfeit or stolen card transactions. This applies to transactions where the card is present and as a result does not apply to online o...
Alex Smith wanted to know about printing on thermal paper using a thermal barcode printer. Our general answer is that you can but probably shouldn't. Below is an image of why.
Barcode printers often have printheads that operate at a hotter temperature than receipt printer printheads. We suspect that is because receipt printers usually need to print faster, sometimes up to nearly 12" per second. Barcode printers typically lean towards the 5" per second speed but can go faster or slower depending on the quality of the printer.
In the example above you can see that the print head g...
