Your point of sale counter is a direct reflection of your business and how much attention to detail you put into it really goes a long way into helping/hurting your businesses image. Overall the most important thing when it comes to taking payment is to make sure you can do it quickly and accurately. A well setup and configured point of sale system can make a big difference when it comes to a happy customer and one that will storm out of your store frustrated that it took so long. It does not matter how many bells and whistles you have if it just doesn't work then it is frustrating for employees and frustrating for customers. The second most important thing is what kind of image does your system project. Does a cheap 10 key register without an itemized receipt instill trust in your business. Will a unbranded receipt bring a customer back or start a conversation with a friend? Does checking out customers with your old ipad show that your business will be around for the long haul? There is a lot of concern these days with identity theft, stolen credit cards, and hacked companies. Having a point of sale system built with point of sale components not only works better then consumer equipment but also shows trust that their information is safe. Point of sale systems have come a long way to look better and take up less space. Printers can be integrated into the computer, the cash drawers can be hidden under counters, and thermal technology prints receipts quietly and quickly with logos and important details highlighted. Does your point of sale system encourage people to buy more? On most of our systems a second monitor or customer can quickly and easily be added to allow you to talk to your customers. You can show people that you have a loyalty program, you can let them know you have gift cards, talk about upcoming events and sales, or show other great items you have available. Think about how few sales you would have to make for that second display to pay for itself. If you want something with more show we can upgrade to a Cash Drawer or Scanner with color changing LED. If you want to show a more rugged appearance there are retail hardened equipment with carbon fiber or stainless steel finishes.
