One of the frequent requests our sales team gets is if we have a white printer that matches their new white PC?  In the past we've recommended a few different models that are beige, cream, or gray, but other than Star most manufacturers weren't making a true white printer.  Because of the demand for a true white printer POSGuys decided to bring in a limited stock of a [white thermal printer][1] that would work with most point of sale software.

Presenting the **POSGuys White Printer**, it is a nice quiet 6.3 inches per second thermal receipt printer with auto-cutter.  It also features a front exit for the paper so you can push it under a monitor or place it a bit more strategically on your counter.

The printer uses POS-X internals and Epson emulation making it compatible with most popular Windows based point of sale software such as PC America Cash Register Express, Aldelo for Restaurants, and CAP Retail.  In the software when they ask for what kind of printer you are using, select "Epson Thermal" and it will print just like a more expensive Epson Printer.

The printer has a partial cut auto-cutter with jam-free-self-cleaning blades.  It will leave a small stub of paper in the middle of the receipt.

Power button, status lights (power, error, paper sensor), and cover release are all conveniently located on the front of the printer.  When you are out of paper you will get an audible warning letting you know.

The white printer uses standard thermal receipt paper.  It prints at a decent 6.3 ips which will work just fine for most retail and restaurant settings.  It also prints very quietly no loud mechanical sounds, just the sound of the paper feeding and the auto-cutter.  The print quality is great, all text is very legible, and logos print cleanly.  The printer printed great on the lighter weight paper and heavier weight paper.  No jamming or problems feeding with either paper thickness.

The printer comes standard with USB and Serial connections, in most setups you'll want to use USB.  The windows drivers are available [here][4].  The install process is very straight forward, just click the "OK" or "continue" buttons.  In the drivers you can chose to open drawer on all prints, disable the auto-cutter, and other printer specific functions.

The optional cash drawer port is also located on the back.  Any cash drawer with an "Epson" cable will work.  If you're using a POS-X Drawer both ends of the cash drawer cable will be the same, with an APG drawer the big end goes into the drawer and the small end into the printer.  The [White APG Stratis][5] matches this printer perfectly if you're looking for a very clean looking setup.

If you are looking to go away from the traditional black aesthetics of point of sale hardware then give the POSGuys White Printer a look.  It can stand in for an Epson printer, it is affordable, and the performance matches many more expensive printers.  Overall this is a four of stars type of product, performs well, price is excellent, support is great, it's in stock and ready to ship, but doesn't have all the latest bells and whistles or cutting edge specs.
