Unitech MS840 Series Scanner Review

The Unitech MS840 series scanner is a great solution for retail environments as well as for general purpose. It provides the user with comparable scanning performance to competitors such as Motorola and Honeywell, at the same time providing great value and reliability. The MS840 comes in three types, USB corded, Bluetooth Wireless, and RF Wireless.

The standard Unitech MS840 includes a USB interface cable. This allows the scanner to be plugged into any PC with a USB port and used immediately. A 3-year warranty is included, again making it comparable to other competitors. I like how familiar it feels when holding one, it grips easy and scans effortlessly. The scanner emits a single laser for precision. This is a great solution used in a retail checkout station. The next model is the Bluetooth Wireless version of the MS840, also referred to as the MS840B. This uses a long range Bluetooth connection, giving the user flexibility to be as far away as 300 ft (within line of sight) from the receiver/charging cradle. Perfect for stock room and light warehouse usage. Can also be used in a retail showroom floor or library. Finally, the last version of the MS840 is the RF (radio frequency). This is great for scanning across short distances, with a maximum of about 30ft, the MS840P provides great value for a cost effective wireless scanning solution. The price is less compared to the MS840B (Bluetooth version). I would suggest this one for retail usage when needing to go behind the counter and scan large items, or for inventory control within the show room floor, like a boutique or gift shop. All scanners come with an IP42 seal, protecting the scanner from dust and water splashes. Also has been rated for several drops at 6 feet. For a 1D corded and cordless scanner, the MS840 series scanner is top rated and highly recommended.ms840
