Looking to develop an application for a windows mobile handheld mobile computer? Please reconsider.

According to Microsoft "Visual Studio versions beyond Visual Studio 2008 no longer supports the Windows CE, Windows Mobile or Windows Embedded Handheld platforms. Visual Studio 2008 or earlier versions need to be used to develop applications for for these platforms."

However, Microsoft has ended support for Visual Studio 2008 and windows embedded operating systems are being phased out as well. Here are some important dates:

April 10, 2018 - Microsoft Visual Studio 2008 (All editions)
June 10, 2018 - Windows Embedded CE 6.0 will be End of Life
June 9, 2019 -  Windows Embedded 8.1 Handheld will be End of Life
January 14, 2020 - Windows Embedded Handheld 6.5 will be End of Life

An alternative solution is using Satellite forms development tool:  [http://www.satelliteforms.net/](http://www.satelliteforms.net/)

If you want to develop into the future, we strongly suggest **Android OS**.
