Installing an Epson Ethernet Printer

The following instructions go over how to set up your Ethernet interface Epson printer, including the TM-T20II, TM-T88V, and TM-U220.

Setting up your Epson printer with an Ethernet interface requires setting the IP address. Use the following steps to set up the printer:
 
**Ethernet Configuration:** 
**1.** Make sure the Epson Ethernet printer is plugged into the network and turned on. Then run the Epson Ethernet Configuration Utility (EpsonNet Config)

**2.** The utility should automatically search the network and discover any Epson Ethernet printers that are available.

**3.** Once the printer shows up on the list in the utility, select it.

**4.** Then press the Configuration button.

**5.** When the Device Properties window appears, go down to the Basic section under TCP/IP. Here is where you'll set the IP addess of the printer. You can either do so manually or, choose the automatic option. Once you set the IP, hit the Transmit button. 
**NOTE:** If you chose the option to set the IP automatically, refresh the list in the utility and it will display what the current IP it has been set to.

**6.** Once the IP is set, run the Epson Advanced printer driver. Once you select your model of printer, set the Port Type to Ethernet.

**7.** Once you've set the Port Type, enter the IP Address that was assigned to the printer and then click Save Settings.

To find your computer's IP address, use the following steps:

Open the start menu and->
Windows 7, 8 & 10: type cmd.exe and press Enter
Window XP: Go to Run and type cmd.exe

1. Once the Command Prompt window opens, type ipconfig
 
2. The IPv4 Address in the list that appears should be the address you're looking for
 
3. You want to make sure the IP you set your printer to has the some first 3 sections of numbers (ie. 192.168.0.120 should be 192.168.0.XXX, with the XXX being the unique numbers for your printer).
 
4. To test if the IP address you're going to assign to the printer is available, type ping followed by the IP Address. (ie. ping 192.168.0.192)
 
5. If the request times out the IP should be available.

These instructions should work for all Epson printers with Ethernet intefaces, including the following part numbers: TM-T88V (C31CA85656, C31CA85A6331, C31CA85306, C31CA85A6621), TM-T20II (C31CD52A9992, C31CD52A9982, C31CD52A9931), TM-U220 (C31C514A8041, C31C514A8211).
