LS2208 Interface Issues: RS232

I ran into an interesting issue and solution today. A customer accidentally scanned a OPOS/JPOS configuration instead of the Standard RS232 configurations for their serial scanner. That may sound a little confusing, but what it basically means is that it was set to communicate in a way that wasn't possible with the cable it had. The user wasn't even able to attempt scanning in this situation, the device just acted like it wasn't getting power. Normally a USB cable would be used to reconfigure the device to defaults, which the customer didn't have. However, there was an interesting solution to this issue; when power cycling (unplugging the power adapter and plugging it back in) the device would remain functional for about 5 seconds after the deep indicating the device was plugged in. If the Recall Defaults barcode is scanned during that 5 second window, the problem will be reversed.
