Using scales in Aldelo for Restaurants

Pay by weight restaurants are becoming increasingly popular, from self service frozen yogurt restaurants to cook to order grill restaurants, charging your customers by the ounce is a great way to create a value vibe with your establishment. Your customers only pay for what they serve themselves and don't feel like they have to pay for additional items that aren't appealing to them.

[Aldelo for Restaurants][1] has the ability to facilitate per weight items with an integrated scale.  We recommend using the [Brecknell 6710 w/ USB Interface][2], which is available in both a 15lb and 30lb version and is precise up to two decimal places.

**In order to set up Aldelo for Restaurants to allow per weight sales:**

Station Settings->Ports
	Select the port and port settings for the scale
Station Settings->Other Options-> Extra Settings
	This is where you enable scale integration and set unit type (see Image 1)

Setup->Menu Setup->Menu Items
        In the Menu Item Editor, the option to enable weights is under Page 1
        Check the 'Sell by weight' option on your menu item (see Image 2)

Instead of bringing up a number pad when the menu item is selected, it will list the weight on the scale.
