BPA or Bisphenol A is a chemical used in plastic manufacturing to harden plastics. In 2008 there was information published on how it could be very harmful to people ( more info ) Where it comes in to play with point of sale is in receipt printing in particular in the paper used by thermal receipt printers. There was a concern that thermal receipt paper may use BPA in the creation of the thermal paper or in the cores that the paper is wrapped around. Recently Datalogic sent us their newest entry level cost effective barcode scanner the Quickscan Lite QW2100. The original quickscan had a few different forms, you had the imager version the laser version and the bluetooth version.
