Common Datacard SD360 Card Printer Issues I'm printing an order of 300 cards, two color red and black on white card stock. I'll try to beat the printer and finish this blog post before it stops! One isolated area on a card is consistently printing with a flaw. This is often a matter of the tension on the ribbon. In one recent case I had half of a card order turn out flawed due to a tension problem. What improved the problem was going into my advanced printer settings and flipping the card 180°. While this doesn't seem like it should work, it often changes the tension enough to fix the erro...

Question: Alex Smith wanted to know "can I print pdf or word documents onto thermal paper using this device? thanks" Down below is a sample of images printed from standard Microsoft software on the Epson TM-T20II. 2 Quick Card Printer Buying Tips Tip 1: Before you invest in an expensive (yet wonderful) card printer call the manufacturer support line to check the wait time and quality of the support employees. Tip 2: In my experience it is an excellent idea to use software and hardware from the same manufacturer. If you are buying X-Manufacturer's printer also buy X-Manufacturer's software. This will allow the support team to test and troubleshoot any problems you may have. Full Disclosure: I wrote this p...

I admit (publicly and on my employer's website even…) when I first started working at POSGuys I was driven absolutely crazy by the point of sale jargon so I’ll try to do everyone a favor and explain the card printing options, in plain old English. The first thing to understand about our cards is that they start out with black printing on white cardstock. These are a...

Increase loyalty and gain new customers by providing customers with the option to buy gift cards. There is a reason large businesses like Olive Garden, Wal-Mart or Starbucks all offer their own cards, it makes them more money than they would have otherwise. According to Gift Card Granny the average gift card user spends an additional 20% beyond the value of the card at their shopping trip. Additionally retailers who switch from paper gift certificates to plastic gift cards typically see a 50-100% increase in gift sales. So what exactly is a gift card? At its simplest a gift card is just a cre...
