Why POS Software?
By: KC - 9/5/2014

POS Software is not a new thing it's been around since dos based IBM machines started being used in businesses all over the US. Originally POS Software was keystroke based and heavily relied upon the f-keys. Over time with the advent of the GUI OS, lower cost PC's, and demand for more information about your business POS Software grew to be a necessity for a well run business. Do you see businesses using a 10 key register? Yeah, they are still around, and depending on the cashier's skill with a 10 key, some cashiers can be remarkably fast. However with a 10 key register you loose some criti...

CRE Reviews
By: KC - 8/25/2014

Cash Register Express also known as CRE is created by PC America in New York. It's been a long standing favorite of POSGuys for many years, due to it's extensive features, fair price point, and US based development team. In it's early days CRE was designed to run on Windows 2000, it had the basic point of sale features and utilized barcode scanner input to ring up everything. Since then CRE has been kept up to date works with all current versions of Microsoft Windows including Windows 8.1 (as of 9/1/14), and introduced a ton of new features and a focus on changes in the point of sale industr...

LI2208 Linear Imager Review
By: KC - 8/8/2014

Recently, I got the chance to try the LI2208 a little more hands-on. If you are scanning bar codes printed on paper or electronic bar codes displayed on the screen of a mobile phone, the LI2208 is the best-in-class linear imager with the performance you would expect from Motorola. The LI2208 provides the same reliability as our most popular scanner, the LS2208, with retail in mind, but has enhanced features so you scan more types of bar codes at a farther distance. Also, designed with no moving parts, the LI2208 offers a stable and reinforced experience, able to withstand multiple six-foot dro...

Looking for a Good Deal
By: KC - 8/7/2014

"I need something quick and I need something cheap!" We understand your urgency and we understand you need something reliable. Lucky for our customers, since we do have a 20-day return policy, sometimes we get things back where only the box is opened and the contents was never or lightly used. Everything has been tested to make sure it works, but maybe someone ordered a Parallel Interface on their printer when they needed a USB Interface. These have been opened and returned, but we can not sell them as new and at a new factory fresh price, since they have broken the factory seal but ...

By: KC - 7/31/2014

As I am sure customer service is important to most companies, your customers and clients can be your most valuable information. A simple survey with a limited amount of questions could make you customer feel important and give you vital information about your company and the people representing it. By: KC - 7/18/2014

First of all, thank you for ordering from POSGuys.com. We truly appreciate your business and loyalty. Secondly, I would like to go over the types of payments we accept. We accept most major credit cards. Visa, Mastercard, and American Express. We will need both the Billing address as well as the Shipping address, as most stores do for security. We also will take Wire Transfers, just ask about them and we can get your bank information as well as give our bank information needed to make that transaction go as smoothly as possible, and we take Direct Payment through Western Union (WU® Pay). As we...

Holiday Weekend
By: KC - 7/10/2014

YAY! Happy 4th of July! Just a reminder, tomorrow is the 4th of July and is not a shipping day! Please allow extra time for this. Since this is an advice blog, here you go. For this weekend, please do not leave pets outside, in hot cars or leave your alcoholic beverages where they could reach it. Same goes for children. (Also, do not put sunscreen or insect repellent on your pets. This probably seems like a legit option after drinking all day.) Keep matches, lighter fluid, and fireworks out of reach of children, please. You should probably have a fire extinguisher, water hose, or bucket of wat...

Software and Hardware Compatibility
By: KC - 6/24/2014

So many times, if we get a call, and someone asks "will this work", it will work. However, there are some software developers that make it a little tricky. I know the Square stand looks great and simple, but when we are dealing with compatibility, only certain things will work with it. They have a compatibility list on their website, as do most, and that makes it easier. Some software are proprietary, so not everything works. Scanners are pretty easy and most of the time safe to say they will work, but it is always a good idea to double check or verify with the software company. Prin...
