By: POSGuys Support - 2/18/2016

Any loss of data, whether it's a personal computer, handheld device, or business computer brings a lot of stress. Loss of data on a POS system means losing customer transactions, menu settings, inventory, and more. Luckily, the backup process for Aldelo is simple. Step 1 Open the Aldelo software. On the opening screen, select Back Office Step 2 On the Back Office screen, select Backup Database Step 3 Select a drive and a location from the menu. By: POSGuys Support - 2/12/2016

Last week I was out travelling for business. The process of travelling is always grueling, but technology promises to make things more efficient. A lot of companies are starting to release coupons, accept payment, and check-in via smartphones. It looks simple: you get an email with a square barcode (called a 2D barcode), load the image onto your phone, and scan it at the register. Most of the time, this process works well. However, like happened on my trip, the scanner doesn't scan properly and everyone else is left waiting longer until the user can sort it out. Why does this happen? There ...

Roll Back from Windows 10
By: POSGuys Support - 2/1/2016

Later this year, Microsoft will change the Windows 10 upgrade option to a Recommended update. They're doing this as a method to get everyone who qualifies onto one operating system. For Microsoft, this ensures that there is only one operating system to support, one set of features to develop, and one track of bugs and errors to fix. How far can you extend a USB Barcode Scanner
By: POSGuys - 1/22/2016

How far can you extend a USB Barcode Scanner? TLDR: about 30 feet If your cable for your barcode scanner isn't quite long enough you can use a male to female extension cable to get a bit more length out of the cable. These cables come in different lengths from a couple of feet to ten feet or more. Keep in mind though that the cable can only go so long before there is not enough current to power the cable and/or the scanner can no longer communicate with the computer. In our testing we were able to go out around 28 feet for a presentation DS4800 Barcode Scanner and 31 feet for a trigg...
