With the new TLS security updates being pushed out by payment processors for PCI compliance, many customers are having to upgrade their POS systems to meet the new requirements. With the CRE update 12.8040+, the new system requirements do not support the Atom 1.8 gHz processors or 2 GB of RAM. My Epson U220 doesn’t work with my Aloha system. What could be going on?

With the Aloha POS system, it is recommended by the manufacturer of the software to use an RS-232 interface (serial) on the TM-U220B impact printer. If you have an Ethernet or USB enabled U220, you should be able to swap out the interface cards with your old printer, or you may order a new printer. Once you have the serial interface installed (if it didn’t already come with it), plug in the serial-to-Ethernet adapter on the back of the device.
