Cataloging a Personal Library
By: Jesse - 7/30/2014
Often customers call in looking for an inexpensive way to catalog their personal library. They also want it to be quick and easy. “Which barcode scanner can just scan the ISBN number on the book and add it to an Excel spreadsheet?” they ask. The easy answer is “any of them” but that only transfers the ISBN number to Excel, nothing more. You then have to enter (type in) all of the information you want to be associated with the ISBN: title; author; copyright etc… The more efficient way to do this would be to purchase a simple corded scanner, like the Short Range, and sign up for a free (or close...

TM-C3400 was one of the original color label printers by Epson. It has been updated and released as the TM-C3500 with a ton of great improvements including: Separate Cartridges for each color Black Ink instead of a dark gray blend With those two changes the printer prints nicer with less waste and better economics. Make sure you use Ink-Jet specific labels when printing with this printer, using plain paper labels may cause the ink to bleed, smear, or produce a lower print quality.

“We’ve been living in the stone age”
By: Jesse - 6/24/2014
That was the first thing my customer said today. He runs a very popular event held annually for a non-profit organization. This event raises over a hundred thousand dollars for the organization! Every year they raffle off a car. They sell over 3000 raffle tickets and end up with a winner by process of elimination. They pull a ticket, type the number on the ticket into a program that turns around and flashes the number on a 30-foot screen. After that, another person announces the name on the losing ticket. Simple enough, right? While this process has been working for them it takes a very long t...
The JustFab Approach

Your point of sale counter is a direct reflection of your business and how much attention to detail you put into it really goes a long way into helping/hurting your businesses image. Overall the most important thing when it comes to taking payment is to make sure you can do it quickly and accurately. A well setup and configured point of sale system can make a big difference when it comes to a happy customer and one that will storm out of your store frustrated that it took so long. It does not matter how many bells and whistles you have if it just doesn't work then it is frustrating for emplo...
Stilettos to Scanners

Before selling barcode scanners, and other POS hardware and software, I sold shoes. I lived most girls’ dream, surrounded by shoes all day everyday. Prior to selling shoes I was a fashion student at the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising in Los Angeles. I moved to LA in 2004 – straight out of high school. I was very committed to graduating, so much so that I started summer quarter and graduated December of 2005. It was an amazing experience. I graduated with a degree in Apparel Manufacturing Management. You may be asking, What the heck do you do with that degree? Well, very soon aft...
