To sum it up, on October 1, 2015, the liability will shift. Retailers/merchants who do not use a chip card reader to process credit/debit cards that are present at the time of transaction when a chip implemented card is presented, can be held liable for any fraudulent transactions or chargebacks that occur as a result.
Some Benefits: EMV technology increases card data security mainly by making it almost impossible to create counterfeit cards. EMV technology has considerably reduced card fraud resulting from counterfeit, lost and stolen cards in other countries where it is implemented.

Lets talk about Jewelry Stores and the labels/tags they use. I would recommend using PC America Cash Register Express (CRE) for the software and the label creation software that is an add on feature to the Point-of-Sale software. Some things I will be going over is Serializing items, PLU's, SKU's, and what kind of tags I found most useful when I worked in a jewelry store.
Some of the best ways to keep track of your inventory, whether it is with jewelry or another type of merchandise, is to use serial numbers. With diamonds, they usually only laser engrave a serial number on nicer quality and ...
Some of the great things about technology are, we don’t have to leave home to go to work anymore. With online shopping right at our finger tips, it almost sells itself. It also requires a lot less overhead costs for a small business. Stay at home parents can contribute to the household and still bring in an income! That’s amazing! When the kiddo gets sick, you don’t necessarily have to take a sick day or day off from work to deal with a puking toddler. Snow day, yup, you can still make a profit from working from home if you need to. Want to take Sundays off or a sunny afternoon day, do it! Jus...
"Customer service is the provision of service to customers before, during and after a purchase." (Wikipedia). Whether it is before the sale of an item, get to know your customer. Make a friend first, is one of the simplest and easiest ways to make someone feel comfortable. With so many sales not being face to face anymore and people buying online, because they are in a hurry, people forget that we are still people and need that sense of security that someone will be there on the other end if we need it. During the sale, give them the information they need and want. And don't be afrai...

We have all heard of coupons, but do we really understand them? First, know where to find coupons, whether its weekly newspaper coupons, on your phone, magazines or printed off websites. Second, wait for the sales to use the coupons and always buy at the lowest price. The big secret, is double couponing.
*Can you use a store coupon and a manufacturers coupon at the same time? Not sure, ask the store.
*Does the store honor competitors coupons?
If you are a store and running coupons, be ...
We have all been in line when the cashier has a damaged or faded barcode they are trying to scan. We all cringe when we see them reach for the phone so they can get someone to come to their register so they can go grab another one off the shelf with a better barcode. Finally the barcode is either read, typed in manually or the other associate brings back the item with a better barcode.
2 of the big problems created by poor quality or damaged barcodes are loss of time and potential for manual typing errors. Because life is so fast paced for us now, even typing in one item can seem like seconds...
